Day 1 Kota Kinabalu: Pick up from Kota Kinabalu airport and transfer to hotel for a one night stay.
Day 2 KK-Kinabalu Park HQ-Laban Rata (B/L/D): Meet & greet at hotel lobby at 6am and drive towards Kinabalu Park Headquarters where packed lunch will be provided. At 9am, a licensed guide begins the necessary registrations for the the Mount Kinabalu climb and this includes assigments of a mountain guide and ID Tags for everyone to be worn at all times. Thereafter, everyone proceeds to the starting point of the climb at Timpohon Gate. Along the way, 6 shelters are available to refill water bottles and a short rest. This is interspersed with beautiful panoramic view of the rainforest and the different vegetation from oak and chestnut to mossy and alpine vegetations as the climb progresses. Depending on fitness level and speed, it shall take between 4 to 5 hours to finish the climb and estimated to arrive at Laban Rata at 3:30pm to check into Mountain Hut (or equivalent) to spend a night. Buffet dinner is served at 7pm.
Day 3 Laban Rata-Low's Peak-Laban Rata-KK (ES/B/L): Wake up at 2am and enjoy light supper before preparing for the most challenging part of the climb - the approx. 4,095m Low’s Peak Summit. At 7am, descend to Laban Rata for breakfast. At 10am, check-out and proceed to Timpohon Gate for transfer back to Kinabalu Park Headquarters, estimated to arrive between 1pm to 3pm. Mountain guide will register with park authorities about completion of the climb and successful climbers can choose to purchase a certificate of achievement. Lunch will be served at the Balsam restaurant in Kinabalu Park after which transfer back to Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu will take place.
Note: Climbing of the Mount Kinabalu depends on the availability of the mountain hut which requires reservations in advance. Tour can only be confirmed if the mountain hut is available. Once payment is made, no refund will be entertained and this is according to the SSL booking system. In addition, the mountain hut is a very basic accommodation with bed bunk only and in certain mountain huts water heater is not available.
